NASHVILLE – January 31, 2025 – The much-anticipated Beacons is
out today! An epic double-genre, double album of
unadulterated Americana and progressive bluegrass. In some of their
most impressive songwriting to date, Nefesh Mountain
tackles challenging and personal topics such as infertility, sobriety,
parenthood, and our world’s divisive human relationships.
Beacons' two full-length albums are distinctly different,
while clearly emanating from what makes Nefesh Mountain unique in the
first place—vast musical knowledge and equally vast curiosity, paired
with immaculate musicianship. The bold project emerged
from a genuine and wholehearted attempt to transform the world around
them. Soon after wrapping a whirlwind tour booked to complement their
mission of spreading a newly embraced mantra of radical love,
co-founders Doni Zasloff and Eric
Lindberg immersed themselves in the feverish writing of
songs that turned their frustrations and fears into irrepressible hope,
all while reaching far beyond their bluegrass roots and forging a
fiercely joyful sound unbound by genre convention. By the time they had
completed that process of musical alchemy, the New York-based
husband-and-wife duo had profoundly refined the band’s vision and
voice, and arrived at the unfettered radiance of Beacons,
affirming Nefesh Mountain as a singular musical force—one whose deeply
impassioned songwriting awakens us to new ways of navigating an
endlessly troubled world.
On Beacons, Lindberg takes the
helm as primary songwriter, producer and brings with him formidable
musician chops which showcase him moving easily between acoustic
guitar, electric guitar, and banjo. Zasloff who co-wrote and
co-produced the album with Lindberg enhances every track with her
intuitive lead and harmony vocals.

Recorded
primarily at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville, Beacons expands
on the soulful intentionality Nefesh Mountain has brought to their
music since forming a decade ago. Alongside Lindberg and Zasloff, the
album features their touring bandmates along with special guests like Greg
Leisz (pedal-steel guitar), Jerry
Douglas (Dobro), Sam Bush (mandolin), Rob
McCoury (banjo), Cody Kilby (guitar), Mark
Schatz (bass), and Stuart Duncan
(fiddle).
Some of the stand out tracks on the project include
“Regrets
in the Rearview,” “Mother,” the Tony Rice tribute “Man of
Manzanita,” “Milestoned,” “Race to Run,” and “Better
Angels.”
Beacons radiates Lindberg and Zasloff’s fearless musical
innovativeness woven into lyrics of life-affirming gratitude and
curiosity.
